Lady Fliers Fall to 12-4 Perkins 75-56 at ‘The Plank’

The Lady Fliers faced their third straight excellent girls’ team this afternoon, and once again faced an uphill battle. Behind the senior leadership of Olivia Howard, Nancy Siegel, and post Aleena Winston, the Lady Pirates cruised to a 75-56 win!
Nancy had 22 points including 8-8 at the line. Olivia added 16 points including three treys, and Aleena contributed 15. For the Fliers were led by senior Jackie Smith’s 19 points and Madison Bannister with 12.
The Pirates led 20-7 after one quarter and never looked back. Once again ball and overall defensive pressure disrupted the Fliers. After leading 38-21 at intermission, the quick slick shooting Lady Pirates extinguished Flier hopes with a 27-13 third period.
Throughout these tough times, our younger girls have to be thinking, ‘Can I ever get to their level?’
The wise observer in round all would offer, ‘Yes, young lady, but it requires a continued effort to improve not only this season but a determined work ethic from March through October. That is YOUR DECISION! We know you can! We hope you will!’
Both teams today were deadly at the line. Perkins shot 15-19 and the Fliers were 17-22.
Our Jayvees also took its lumps today.
The varsity now is 5-8 for the season.
