Flier Varsity Drops Match to Division Juggernaut Norwalk 156-186 at Eagle Creek.
This afternoon, our boys knew they were perhaps outmanned and outgunned when they took on the highly favored Truckers, unbeaten this far in Lake play. None of the Norwalk teens shot higher than a 44. Two shot in the upper 30’s for their nine hole journey. The Fliers this year cannot stay with the big dawgs like Norwalk.
Leading the Fliers were freshmen Mason Gurney and junior Max Yates. Each fellow shot a 45. Jacob Lee added a 47. Jacob is a junior. Colby Pocock, another freshman, shot a 49 and sophomore Gavin Gill fired a 50.
For Norwalk, the medalist was Kyle Smith with a 37. Gavin Koelsh shot a 39. Two other Truckers turned in impressive rounds of 40.
Our jayvees lost, too! 189-233. Best round was submitted by junior Chris Oleksiak with a 56.
