Clyde Fliers Varsity Can’t Hold Up Against Bellevue
Clyde Fliers Varsity struggled to get their offense going on Wednesday, getting easily dispatched by Bellevue, 8-1.
Clyde Fliers Varsity fired up the offense in the second inning. Clyde Fliers Varsity scored one run when Dillon Overmyer singled.
Bellevue pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Grant Reese induced Eisenhaur to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored and P Ray singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Bellevue scored three runs in the sixth inning. Miller and Hay all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Prenatt earned the win for Bellevue. He surrendered one run on six hits over five innings, striking out five. Ray threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Ray recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Bellevue.
Reese was on the mound for Clyde Fliers Varsity. He surrendered six runs on seven hits over five and a third innings, striking out eight and walking one. Cameron Farrar threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Reese led Clyde Fliers Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
Vickery went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Bellevue in hits. Bellevue didn’t commit a single error in the field. Miller had the most chances in the field with eight. Ray led Bellevue with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
