Clyde Fliers Varsity Overcomes Sandusky In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning
Despite allowing three runs in the first inning, Clyde Fliers Varsity defeated Sandusky 16-5 on Monday. Sandusky’s big inning was driven by singles by McKillips, Williams, and Jones.
Sandusky fired up the offense in the first inning. McKillips singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Clyde Fliers Varsity pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Ryan Lozier doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Cameron Farrar doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Grant Reese doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs, and Dillon Overmyer singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Lozier took the win for Clyde Fliers Varsity. He lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out two.
Aaron started the game for Sandusky. He allowed 13 hits and 15 runs over three and a third innings, striking out four. Santana threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Clyde Fliers Varsity racked up 15 hits in the game. Farrar, Reese, Jon Jett, Overmyer, and Nathan Montgomery each collected multiple hits for Clyde Fliers Varsity. Reese and Farrar all had three hits to lead Clyde Fliers Varsity.
Sandusky collected nine hits. McKillips and D Brown each had multiple hits for Sandusky. McKillips led Sandusky with three hits in three at bats.
