Two Clyde Fliers Varsity Pitchers Rally Together To Shutout Port Clinton
Clyde Fliers Varsity defeated Port Clinton 12-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Kaiden Olson struck out Braedon George to finish off the game.
Zach Hickman led Clyde Fliers Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. Hickman went 3-for-4 at the plate. Hickman drove in runs on a double in the first, a double in the second, and a double in the third.
Clyde Fliers Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Hickman doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Clyde Fliers Varsity notched five runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by Clyde Fliers Varsity was led by Dillon Overmyer, Mason Dick, Hickman, and Trevor Philips, all driving in runs in the frame.
One bright spot for Port Clinton was a single by George in the first inning.
Cole Schwochow took the win for Clyde Fliers Varsity. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking one. Olson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Grant Miller was on the hill for Port Clinton. The bulldog surrendered four runs on four hits over one inning, striking out one. Arnold, Isaac Miller, and Cashes Jackson each contributed in relief for Port Clinton.
