4-Hit Day For Farrar As Clyde Fliers Varsity Skirts Past Carey
Cameron Farrar gave Carey fits, as he bagged four hits in Clyde Fliers Varsity’s 13-7 victory on Tuesday. Farrar doubled in the first, tripled in the second, doubled in the third, and doubled in the seventh.
An early lead helped propel Clyde Fliers Varsity to victory. Clyde Fliers Varsity scored on a double by Farrar in the first inning, a double by Trent Cook in the first inning, a single by Will Lozier in the second inning, a triple by Farrar in the second inning, and a home run by Grant Reese in the second inning.
Clyde Fliers Varsity took the lead for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Lozier singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Farrar tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, and Reese homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Dillon Overmyer got the win for Clyde Fliers Varsity. He surrendered seven runs on nine hits over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Cook threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. Cook recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save for Clyde Fliers Varsity.
Uallejo led things off on the hill for Carey. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 runs on 12 hits. Yeater, Stoll, and Tanner each contributed in relief for Carey.
Clyde Fliers Varsity hit one home run on the day. Reese went yard in the second inning.
Clyde Fliers Varsity totaled 17 hits. Farrar, Cook, Jon Jett, Lozier, Overmyer, and Reese all managed multiple hits for Clyde Fliers Varsity. Farrar went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Clyde Fliers Varsity in hits.
Carey had 11 hits in the game. Dasher, Stoll, Uallejo, Frederick, and Mullheland each managed multiple hits for Carey. Dasher led Carey with three hits in four at bats.
