Two Clyde Fliers Varsity Pitchers Combine To Defeat Bellevue In Shutout Game
Clyde Fliers Varsity defeated Bellevue 3-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Cameron Farrar struck out Vickery to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Clyde Fliers Varsity pitchers struck out nine, while Hay sat down three.
Clyde Fliers Varsity opened up scoring in the second inning, when Jon Jett doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
One bright spot for Bellevue was a double by Hay in the first inning.
Grant Reese got the win for Clyde Fliers Varsity. He lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and zero runs while striking out eight. Farrar threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Hay led things off on the mound for Bellevue. He surrendered three runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out three.
Jett led Clyde Fliers Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
